Karis.
This girl oozes talent. Not only is she just a genuine person, but she worked so hard on this freezing cold, rainy session day…all with a smile. Karis is a lovely ballerina in training with lovely technique and a gentle approach to the art form. I have always loved working with Karis over the years, but this session had got to be a favorite. I absolutely love seeing her grow rapidly as a dancer and cannot wait to do more ballet dance sessions with her in the future!
Emily Charais is a professional boutique photographer serving the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. She specializes in ballet, with a vast amount of knowledge about technique and the physiology of the body. She uses that knowledge to push her clients to go further that they thought they could go. The result is cleaner technical photos and photos that the dancer didn’t know they could produce. Emily knows how to correct dancers to get these results in a friendly, fun way. As a former dancers, Emily also knows how to get the shot in very few tries. She can feel when to click the shutter, which allows for a wider variety of photos in the session.
Emily’s style is artistic and beautiful. Although technically clean photos are the goal, artistry is the driving force behind her dance sessions. Emily doesn’t just want to highlight the athleticism of dancers, she wants to provide you with art!
Emily has a studio space in North Loop Minneapolis, and also provides on location dance and ballet photography anywhere in the Twin Cities Metro, and also provides travel sessions all over the world. Although she specializes in ballet photography, Emily works with all sorts of movement and photographs contemporary and competition dancers, hip hop dancers, and Irish dancers. If you dance, she is a perfect fit!
